Hootsmans architectuurbureau has been established in 2006 by Rob Hootsmans. The office works with a team of circa fifteen employees. The core of the team consists of a group of designers who have collaborated for years and have wide experience with the realisation of complex projects.
Our organisation and method of working are characterized by an open, flexible attitude. Not bound to a specific style, we concentrate on analysing the assignment. We conceive of architecture as a process of examining of and experimenting with the unique character of the location and the complex rituals of the future users of the building. The results are functional and ecologically aware buildings, which use the natural energy sources economically and contribute to the well-being of the users. For us a building is completed succesfully if its form, functionality and sustainability form a natural and logical whole.
A flexible attitude is required in order to meet the specific wishes of the client. In addition, each context and environment has its specific, continually evolving demands. To meet these demands technical and organisational innovations and knowhow are necessary. Therefore we develop each project in close collaboration with various experts.
